Boston still has a dominant Garrett Crochet, an improving Walker Buehler, and Sean Newcomb to hold down the rotation. The 14-11 Red Sox should be satisfied with their start to the season, despite fielding and strikeout woes, and will only improve with this influx of healthy arms.

BOSTON — Red Sox starter Brayan Bello showed his athleticism while covering first base during the first inning Tuesday. He stretched out fully and kept his foot on the bag to complete a 3-6-1 double play and escape a bases-loaded jam. He fell to the dirt once the play was completed.

Catcher Carlos Narváez helped Bello along in his first start of 2025, as the righthander lasted five innings and allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three.
