President Joe Biden has signed the annual defense authorization bill into law despite his objections to language banning transgender health care for military children.

President Biden on Monday evening signed the $895 billion Defense authorization bill, despite a provision included in the massive package that restricts transgender care. The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passed in the Senate 85-14,

Biden signed the bill, officially known as the H.R. 5009 or the “ Servicemember Quality of Life Improvement and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 ,” despite “strongly opposing” the provision denying the expenditure of funds for gender-affirming care for children.
