The Toms River woman was set ablaze by a man while while she was sleeping aboard a train at the Coney Island station, police said.

A woman who died after being set on fire on the New York City subway earlier this month was identified as Debrina Kawam, 57, of Toms River, New Jersey, the New York medical examiner's office said on Tuesday.

The New York Police Department released information Tuesday about the woman who died in a subway car in December after reportedly being set on fire, further debunking false information and political narratives that spread online about the victim.
