It’s been thirty years since University of Colorado running back Rashaan Salaam won the Heisman Trophy, and CU could finally have another athlete bring home college football’s top honor this season if two-way player Travis Hunter keeps up his pace.

Travis Hunter is even money to win the Heisman Trophy, and the top four candidates seem mostly clear, but the race is far from over.

Colorado’s Travis Hunter is the favorite it -115. Jeanty leads the country in rushing yards (1,734) and rushing touchdowns (23). In last week’s 28-21 victory over Nevada, Jeanty had a career-high 34 carries for 209 yards and three touchdowns.

It doesn't matter what position you play, but we rarely see defensive players win the Heisman trophy. Right now, it seems like it will either be a QB (Dillon Gabriel), an RB (Ashton Jeanty), or a defensive player (CB/WR Travis Hunter).
