The carrier's first 747SR took flight 27 years ago. It was the first aircraft to carry 500 passengers in an all-economy configuration. At one point ANA operated a fleet of 23 of the type.

The 747SR-100, dubbed "Super Jumbo", entered into service with ANA in 1979, when it was configured in a world first all-economy 500 seats (pictured in original livery above).
