Jack Draper earned one of the biggest wins of his career on Thursday when he topped Ben Shelton 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, Calif.

Two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is bracing for a tough semifinal test from "ambitious" British lefty Jack Draper on Saturday as he aims to take the next step toward a rare Indian Wells ATP Masters three-peat.

Draper had already beaten Americans Jenson Brooksby and Taylor Fritz, in addition to topping rising star João Fonseca of Brazil in his opening round.
