MUMBAI: The death anniversary of renowned Sufi scholar, preacher and founder of Qadriya Silsila, an order of Sufism, Abdul Qadir Jilani (1078—1166) was marked on Friday with charity works.
Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, the founder of Qadiriya silsila (order) of Sufism, preached love to all, including atheists. No wonder the door of his shrine is open to all.
Outside, joyous locals chanted, “Ya Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA)!” Children, wearing their finest clothes, ran around as people gave them sweets and bangles in celebration of the occasion.
