The Skye Bridge celebrates its 25th anniversary this month. It was opened by Secretary of State for Scotland Michael Forsyth on 16 October 1995. Skye is without a doubt Scotland’s best-known island.

This year the Skye bridge is 30 years old and is the gateway to the island for the majority of visitors. For an island with single-track roads and rural infrastructure, it’s a lot to manage.
