Now, nobody’s saying Ryu isn’t capable–he is a ninja after all–but that doesn’t mean he’s not man enough to ask for help. Or cry. But that’s none of our business.

Although listed as “Dragon Ninja”, the new transformation is definitely based on the famous ninja Ryu Hayabusa, whose first name translates to Dragon in Japanese.

GR: Ninja Gaiden is known for being extremely action oriented, so we never get to see Ryu operate as a silent assassin. Have you ever thought about exploring a stealth aspect in a future game?

Ryu is still out being a good, peacekeeping ninja and facing off against demonic hordes. Once the setup was done, Itagaki hopped right into the game, which is played holding the DS sideways.

So far, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword appears to be living up to its promising debut. The game looks great and has some very cool gameplay.
