"Orphan: First Kill" is the origin story of Esther, a middle-aged killer impersonating a 10-year-old. Isabelle Fuhrman plays the role via movie magic.

Fuhrman’s character, Esther, poses as a 9-year-old Russian orphan to infiltrate the home of a couple played by Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard, who had just lost a child.

Orphan: First Kill is a prequel to the 2009 original, taking the story back two years in the past. Esther (Fuhrman) is a patient in an Estonian psychiatric facility in 2007.
