Touting its global network that spans more than 2 million miles of fiber, 33 subsea cables and 202 points of presence, Google LLC’s Cloud division today launched Cloud WAN, a fully managed enterprise backbone designed for wide-area network architectures.

Service provider giant Lumen Technologies is teaming up with Google to bring new cloud and network connectivity offerings to enterprises in the wake of the AI workload explosion, the two companies announced on Wednesday at Google Next 2025.

Integration between Cisco SD-WAN and Google Cloud WAN will offer enterprises simplified network management, optimal performance, and greater agility, the vendors say.
