Launch Google Maps on your phone, tap your profile icon at the top, and then select Timeline. Tap the cloud icon. From the "Your backups" section, select a device, tap More, and then select Import.
Google deleted the Timeline data for many of its Maps users. If you had a backup enabled, you should be able to restore that data, but otherwise, it's likely lost forever.
Check Google Maps settings: Make sure Timeline is enabled and data is set to store on your device. Back up your data manually: Export your location history before the cloud storage deadline.
