The National Park Service said on Wednesday evening that inner canyon corridor trails at the Grand Canyon were closed due to a chlorine gas leak at Roaring Springs. On Thursday, the leak was stabilized and those inner canyon trails reopened, but some closures remained.

Bright Angel, South Kaibab and North Kaibab trails were all closed. The gas leak was at Roaring Springs, which is the water source for all canyon facilities.

Officials with Grand Canyon national Park say a leak in the Roaring Springs area of the North Rim has resulted in the closure of three trails.
