The hospital surveyed more than 1,000 patients and the message was clear: Patients care about their quality of treatment, not what caregivers look like.

"The NIH is reminding employees that even if someone is wearing a lab coat or hospital staff attire, that person should still have a valid NIH ID visible," an NIH spokeswoman said.

MoH asks medical practitioners not to wear lab coat outside work places. The move comes in line with the strategy of the ministry to further enhance the health services nationwide.
