A mile to the north stands the New Presque Isle Lighthouse. Built in 1870 at the tip of Presque Isle Peninsula, the light still is an active aid to navigation. The cost of the project was $35,500.

The Presque Isle Lighthouse will be open Fridays through Mondays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Memorial Day and then will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day.
