Agents continued giving Mattia CPR until a Border Patrol emergency medical technician on scene called a physician at St. Mary’s Hospital in Tucson. The physician pronounced Mattia dead at 10:06 p.m.

Raymond Mattia, 58, was shot and killed by border agents on the Tohono O’odham reservation in Arizona. His relatives have been seeking answers.

Mattia, 58, was shot in the Menagers Dam Village within the Tohono O’odham Nation, about a mile north of the U.S.-Mexico border.
