Microsoft has commissioned five new fonts for Office, as it announces plans to change the default in 2022. It’s the first time the default Office font has changed for nearly 15 years.

When modernism became the dominant aesthetic during the mid-20th century, its sleeker-looking, sans serif fonts came to symbolize ideas of a contemporary cutting edge.
