Scabiosa or pincushion flower is an easy-care plant with soft, 2" lavender blue, white, pink, or dark red flowers that bloom from early summer until fall. Make sure to deadhead spent blossoms.

Tucson in the summer sun and heat is no place for the faint-of-heart when it comes to garden plants. Flowers, in particular, have to be tough to survive.
