The bedchamber sword of Tipu Sultan, an 18th-century king famous for the commanding role he played in wars in southern India, has sold for £14 million ($17.4 million) at auction in London.

A film that sought to depict the 18th-century Mysore ruler Tipu Sultan as a “jihadi” and a “fanatic” has been shelved, the producer said in a press release on Monday.

Sultan’s summer palace was built between 1778 AD and 1784 AD, according to the Karnataka Tourism Department. Sultan’s father, Hyder Ali, had started its construction.
