Many fans were angry and dismayed by the announcement that Lady Vols would be forced to become Vols. They protested, pleaded and petitioned. They talked to anyone who would listen.

How we got to this point. Former UT Chancellor Jimmy Cheek and former AD Dave Hart announced in 2014 a decision to drop the long-used Lady Vols nickname for all women's sports except basketball.

University of Tennessee Athletic Director John Currie says that the Lady Vols logo is coming back, but the “Power T” is still the official logo for the University of Tennessee.
