Wild geese have especially been in issue in neighborhoods such as the man-made ponds in the city's northern side, near Charleswood Park at 15th Avenue East and Sixth Street East.

Out of a group of 15 wild Canada geese that became trapped in the La Brea Tar Pits in late July, only two managed to survive after undergoing a rescue and thorough cleaning process.
