Brant Boyer was announced Monday as the 49ers’ new special teams coordinator, a role he held the past nine season with the Jets, where he overlapped and worked under coach Robert Saleh, who was re-hired Friday as the 49ers’ defensive coordinator.
The 49ers on Monday hired former New York Jets assistant coach Brant Boyer as special teams coordinator. Boyer replaces Brian Schneider, who served as 49ers’ special teams coordinator for the past three seasons. Schneider was fired the day after the 49ers finished the regular season with a 6-11 record.
