Minnesota Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo's toe injury will cost him at least another three weeks, the team announced Friday.

Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo will not require surgery and will be re-evaluated in three weeks as he recovers from a left great toe injury he suffered on Jan. 15, the team said in a statement Friday.

DiVincenzo had replaced Mike Conley in the starting lineup just six games ago and was stellar during that stretch, averaging 17.5 points on 42.1% shooting from three, along with 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

If Conley can find a rhythm, Minnesota (23-21) would greatly benefit. He’s the type of playmaker and spacer the Wolves desperately need in their continued hunt for offensive consistency. The Wolves are now 19-2 this season in games where they win Conley’s minutes.

The Knicks shocked everyone by pulling off a trade for Karl-Anthony Towns in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo at the start of October, and that has transformed both teams. Towns was coming off an up-and-down playoff performance and there was plenty of debate about how good he really was,
