Suspect injured in shooting involving Texas DPS trooper in northwest Harris County, officials say
A Texas DPS trooper was involved in a shooting that left a suspect injured in northwest Harris County Friday afternoon. The department said the shooting unfolded in the 8300 block of Willow Place Drive and confirmed the suspect had been shot.
Carlos Jose Ayala Morales is charged with attempted indecency with a 7-year-old girl involving a groping incident in January. He still hasn't been arrested.
A federal and state immigration crackdown was taking place Monday in the the community northeast of Houston. Gov. Greg Abbot's posted Tuesday on X that "Texas DPS Troopers & Special Agents are assisting Homeland Security Investigations, with an operation in Colony Ridge this morning."
