The Las Vegas Raiders fired general manager Tom Telesco on Thursday, two days after relieving head coach Antonio Pierce of his duties.
Telesco, who was hired in January 2024, appeared to be safe after the Raiders announced they were firing Antonio Pierce on Tuesday. However, Telesco would join Pierce two days later as the Raiders—under some influence of minority owner Tom Brady—decided to do a drastic overhaul at the top.
The 52-year-old Telesco was hired by Las Vegas a few weeks after he was fired by the Los Angeles Chargers in December 2023. Over 11 seasons as the Chargers' general manager, the team went 88–108 and won two playoff games in 2013 and '18.
After firing HC Antonio Pierce earlier this week, owner Mark Davis has elected to move on from G.M. Tom Telesco as well.
Conventional wisdom in NFL circles is that Telesco was fired to clear a path for the next head coach to hire his own personnel executive.
