GWADAR (Dunya News) – Weeks after the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed its flight operations after the four-year ban was lifted by the European regulators, a PIA flight landed here at the newly-built Gwadar International Airport, becoming the first flight to be received at the airport.
The official inauguration of the Gwadar International Airport, initially scheduled for August last year, was delayed multiple times due to security concerns in Balochistan.
The newly inaugurated Gwadar airport in Balochistan has been branded a "donation" by the Chinese Communist Party's mouthpiece, Global Times. This even as Pakistan hailed the USD 230-million airport as a "symbol of friendship".
