The Dallas Cowboys have interviewed former New York Jets coach Robert Saleh in another step in the search to replace Mike McCarthy.

Mougey, 39, rose quickly in Denver and just finished his third season as the Broncos' assistant general manager.

He must have impressed because Mougey is one of only three known candidates who were called back for a second interview. A source confirmed to 9NEWS on Wednesday that Mougey, who is now the Broncos' assistant general manager, has been called back by the Jets for a second interview.

The Cardinals will have to face Robert Saleh’s defenses again with the 49ers as he returns to the job he had from 2017-2020.
