PLA, or Polylactic Acid, is a biopolymer used in FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) 3D Printing amongst other things, and the reason it is used so often is for two main reasons.
They recommend drying PLA filament at 50 °C – 60 °C for eight hours, while Prusa recommends drying PLA for six hours at 45 °C (and PA11CF reinforced nylon at 90 °C).
The PLA filament (PLA is short for polylactic acid) allows hobbyists to 3D-print nostalgic novelties, replacement parts, and accessories that match the original color of vintage Apple computers.
