WASHINGTON The Fiesta Bowl will be allowed to remain part of the Bowl Championship Series, though it must pay a $1 million fine for apparent illegal campaign contributions and inappropriate spending.

The Peach Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl will host the semifinals next season. The Fiesta will go first, at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8, followed the next day by the Peach Bowl, also at 7:30 p.m.

Central Florida has victories over bowl-bound Pitt, then-No. 24 Cincinnati and Memphis twice. The Knights beat No. 6 Baylor 52-42 behind Blake Bortles in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl.
