The situation I have now is I have a CD-Burner to put in. I know its not good to put the CD-Rom and Burner on the same IDE controller because of buffer over and under runs.

This may be a long shot, but I figure it's worth a try if there's somebody here with some HP Workstation experience.I inherited quite a few of these guys at work-- they're older Netburst-era Xeons ...
