Roman Villarreal, a former U.S. Steel South Works steelworker-turned-artist from Chicago’s Southeast Side, designed the giant turtle sculptures that were crafted from Indiana limestone.

A former school teacher from LaPorte who pleaded guilty to four counts of child seduction was appropriately sentenced to 10½ years in prison, the appeals court said.
