B y now, just about everyone has heard of string theory. Even those who don’t really understand it–which is to say, just about everyone–know that it’s the hottest thing in theoretical physics.
“Our work shows that, in principle, string theory can be tested in a non-trivial way,” explained Ira Rothstein, co-author of the paper and professor of physics at Carnegie Mellon.
