The Penguin star Colin Farrell recently became the third actor to win a Golden Globe award for playing a comic book villain. Coincidentally, the other two recipients of the rare honor — Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix — also won for playing a Batman villain.

Colin Farrell won big at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 5, taking home the trophy for best male actor in a limited or anthology series. The award, Farrell's third Golden Globe ever, was in in honor of his performance in 'The Penguin.

On Sunday night, Colin Farrell won the Golden Globe for Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for playing a DC Comics villain, the Penguin, in Max’s The Penguin.
