President Donald Trump has again lashed out at Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump says Zelenskyy is prolonging the “killing field” after the Ukrainian leader pushed back on ceding Crimea to Russia as part of a potential peace plan.

The Biden administration sought evidence of alleged Russian war crimes in Ukraine. The Trump administration is reportedly undoing those efforts.

However, Ukraine must first lift its ban on direct negotiations with Moscow. It follows the Trump administration making clear that it will walk away from trying to broker peace between Russia and Ukraine unless progress is made within days.

Vice President JD Vance said today that the U.S. would “walk away” from negotiations to end the war in Ukraine unless both sides agreed to the American peace plan. The terms, as Vance laid out to reporters for the first time, closely align with Russia’s longstanding goals.

Vice President JD Vance said the US has issued a “very explicit proposal” to Russia and Ukraine on a path forward to a peace deal, adding “it’s time for them to either say yes or for the United States to walk away from this process.
