Everton are in talks with David Moyes about a remarkable return to Goodison Park after sacking Sean Dyche. The Scot, Everton’s most successful manager since Howard Kendall, is the favourite and could be appointed before next Wednesday’s game against Aston Villa.

It comes just a day after West Ham sacked their head coach Julen Lopetegui and replaced him with former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter. Dyche is the sixth Premier League manager to be sacked this season: The first was Manchester United's Erik ten Hag in October.
