The star played vampire hunter Abraham Whistler, a mentor to Snipes’ title character, in the comic book movie trilogy, which began in 1998 and concluded in 2004.

Abraham Whistler, a vampire hunter, took Blade under his wing and trained him to be a hunter and to control his vampire side. The vamps fear Blade, and they know him as the Daywalker.

To replace Whistler, the film introduced an original heroine, Abigail Whistler (Jessica Biel), who is kind of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer of this movie.
