Android 14 QPR1 lets you change the aspect ratio of apps so they’re shown in full screen. Many Android apps aren’t optimized for the larger screens of foldables and tablets.
This aspect ratio override feature is part of the Android OS now, and it will be available on all large-screen devices (tablets and foldables) in Android 15 unless the OEM decides to remove it.
The aspect ratio can even vary on a PC depending on what monitor it's paired with. Older, square-looking monitors used a 4:3 aspect ratio, while mainstream monitors are more typically 16:9.
