The grave of a Celtic female who was buried in approximately 200 B.C. has revealed a surprising find — she was buried in a tree coffin and adorned with precious jewelry.
Celtic cremation graves and warrior burials uncovered in Dluhonice The press statement added that a key discovery in Dluhonice is a large necropolis from the Latène cultural period.
Experts categorize this swirling design as early Celtic art, estimating its date between 320–174 BC, and say it is typical of the La Tène culture that dominated Europe during the late Iron Age.
The rest of the warrior’s grave is impressive, too: His horses, for instance, were placed with their hooves on the ground and rear legs positioned as if preparing to leap out of the grave.
