CALGARY — Mounties in Alberta have charged a 23-year-old man with first-degree murder after he allegedly gave another man cough syrup laced with a fatal dose of fentanyl.

A woman is charged with manslaughter a year after a 9-month-old child was given cough syrup and died at her unlicensed St. Petersburg day care, FL cops say.

Medtech Products recalled the cough syrup for toddlers, preschoolers and tweens. The Bacillus cereus bacteria can bring death, stomachaches, diarrhea and vomiting.

The first patient was enrolled at Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry, marking a significant milestone in the trial.
