Jahshaka is a video and film compositing, editing and special fx system that operates in real-time. And if all that wasn't enough, it also throws in CG, paint and image processing.

An open source project called Jahshaka aims to change that, however. Now available as a “release candidate” of its 2.0 version, the software runs on Mac OS X, Linux and Windows.
