BUFFALO, N.Y. — Do you have old clothing hangers sitting around? Rather than throwing them away, the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning is encouraging residents to recycle them.

Today, the clothing hangers are created at the factory in Toyooka, Hyogo Prefecture. It employs 40 artisans, and it takes them a few days to make one hanger from start to finish.
