CLEVELAND, Ohio – With calm confidence and one last tricky French word, 13-year-old Faizan Zaki of Texas spelled his way to victory Thursday night in the 2025 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

There were 243 talented spellers from around the world who competed in the competition this year, attempting to correctly spell words compiled by one Bay Area man.
