Extreme flooding began in the Texas Hill Country around 4 a.m. on July 4, as thunderstorms dropped more than 10 inches of rain on the region.

The first finishers of the 2024 AuSable River Canoe Marathon will cross the finish line around 11:30 Sunday morning, after 14 straight hours of paddling down the mid-Michigan river.

Unlike previous sessions, the Minnesota Legislature did not appropriate money to River Watch for the 2026-27 biennium.
