They reinforce your existing cabinet frames with durable 1/4″ plywood, then add a veneer of real wood or laminate over it, then replace all the doors with new.

But wood frames are also easier on the eyes and make for a cozier, earthy space than something like a harsh metal would. Of course, not all wooden bed frames are created equal.
