After a mild Thursday, an arctic blast of extreme cold will arrive in parts of Colorado on Friday afternoon. According to Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Alden German, snow chances could start to affect the Friday evening commute and the below-freezing temperatures are expected to last for several days in a row.

Colorado is getting ready to drop into a dangerous multi-day deep freeze. A surge from the Polar Vortex will be pushing below-zero temperatures across the region with several bursts of snow beginning Friday night.

We'll see one more mild day across Colorado before a strong cold front races through Friday night. Temperatures will climb into upper 40s by the afternoon, with light snow developing by evening commute.
