Discovery, Michelle Yeoh returns as Capt. Philippa Georgiou for the movie, Star Trek: Section 31. Plus, Gladiator II, The Wild Robot, and Blink Twice all hit streaming, and Steven Soderbergh's Presence and the action-thriller Flight Plan — starring Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Dockery — open in theaters.

Olatunde Osunsanmi credited the “relentless” Star Trek franchise overseer Alex Kurtzman, Aaron Baiers (the president of TV at Kurtzman’s production company, Secret Hideout) and Michelle Yeoh for Section 31 ultimately being made, saying:

Star Trek has had a lot of firsts since it first debuted in 1966, but it took until 1995 for them to actually start happening. That's when Kate Mulgrew took on the role as Captain Kathryn Janeway, becoming the first woman to helm the bridge of a starshipin the franchise.

Section 31 is Michelle Yeoh. Everything else within the first Trek film of the Paramount+ era orbits around her. The visuals, the camera work, the colors of the costumes, the inclusion of certain spaceships are all inspired by Emperor Philippa Georgiou Augustus Iaponius Centarius (or just Philippa for short),
