The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for much of the central and southern Georgia area. Here's what to expect.

The winter storm brought up to about 2 inches of snow over parts of north Georgia and areas south of Interstate 20.

As much of the state, including Savannah, prepares for a winter storm, the governor has issued an emergency order for Georgia. Gov. Brian Kemp signed off on the state of emergency Monday which will remain in effect until Tuesday,

As a winter storm moves through Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, some school districts are beginning to announce if classes will resume.

Another winter storm is making its way into Georgia on Tuesday. Gov. Brian Kemp issued a state of emergency and local school districts have canceled classes or moved to virtual learning. Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan is tracking the storm that will bring up to 2 inches of snow in areas later Tuesday morning.

Georgia school districts are already canceling and delaying class for Thursday due to the lingering inclement weather from Tuesday's winter storm.
