Aug 18, 2002 · Avoid cutting midrange to allow definition of the bass sound in the mix. Hearing the mids may help you or the audience hear the bass better on the dance floor. Raising and/or tilting the cab can effect the direct and reflected sound off the stage floor, and may help with bass nulls on the dance floor from room modes.

Apr 17, 2000 · Set the pickup selector switch (if your bass has one) in the middle position, and turn the volume and tone controls to their maximum settings. Check tuning. Check each string at the 12th fret, harmonic to fretted note (make sure you are depressing the string evenly to the fret, not the fingerboard).

The reason I'm asking is I will most likely be ordering a custom bass neck and will have to specify a radius dimension. Are basses commonly compound radii these days i.e. 7.25" to 9.5"? 10 ...
