So it seems like a simple solution, remove the V12, however the GT doesn't seem special anymore, and it loses a GREAT deal of speed.

A not so good example is the Ford GT, they were allowed to race them before the production run even started but Ford made enough of them to eventually meet the quota.

Right now you don't need to buy a turbocharged car but in 20 years you will. And in 20 years Ford wants you to think "Wow, Ecoboost has been around since practically forever and it's been kicking ass in the Ford GT for 20 years.
