Jan 27, 2018 · The Henry 12 gauge single shot I have had on order since September finally arrived last Friday. After cleaning it up a bit, I took it out to the range today and shot 25 rounds through it. So far, I am liking it. The wood is attractive, at least to my eye, but many things are attractive to me that others think not very highly of.

H&R obviously but they don't sell them anymore, and I'm not shelling out over $200 on a shotgun like Henry and Winchester are asking for.

He switched to left hand shooting and got himself a Henry Color Case Hardened 45-70 for our rifle zone. i just bought the .243 Henry Single Shot youth rifle and I think it is pretty comparable. My 10 year old will shoot it for this upcoming season, and will be gifted as he gets older.

The "Twist Finish" may mean a Twist pattern was applied in some manner over likely decarbonized steel tubes. On the barrel flats should be a ELG in an oval; if it is crowned then the gun was made after 1893.

Aug 1, 2011 · I, too, have a JC Henry single shot. Stamped on the bottom part that connects to the stock is "JC Henry Arms Co - St. Paul" The serial number is 209869. I would be interested in its age, but my reason for making this entry is that I want to restore it to display condition. It is rusted, the barrel is pitted, and it is sans stock and forearm.
